Plainmail

Privacy Policy

Effective November 2, 2026

Plainmail is a macOS email app made by Plain11, LLC (“we”). This policy explains what information Plainmail accesses, what it does with it, and where it is kept. The short version: Plainmail has no servers. Your email goes only between your mail provider and your Mac. We never receive, see, store or share your email or account information.

What Plainmail accesses

When you add an account, Plainmail connects directly from your Mac to that provider:

You sign in to Google and Microsoft on their own pages. Plainmail never sees those passwords.

How your information is used

Plainmail uses your email and account data only to provide the features you see in the app: showing, searching, organizing, reading and sending your email. It is not used for advertising, is not sold, is not used to train any artificial intelligence or machine-learning models, and is not read by any person other than you.

Where your information is stored

None of this is transmitted to Plain11, LLC or to any third party.

Sharing

We do not share, transfer or sell any user data, because we never receive any. Plainmail contains no analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting services. The only connections it makes are to your mail providers (Google, Microsoft, or the mail servers you configure) and, when you choose “Load Remote Content” in a message, to the servers hosting that message’s images.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Plainmail’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Removing your data

Security

All connections to mail providers are encrypted (TLS). Plainmail blocks remote images and tracking pixels by default and runs in Apple’s App Sandbox.

Changes and contact
